 President Obama, This week Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will attend the meeting you have called for direct peace negotiations. It is praiseworthy that you are attempting to "bring peace" to Israel, a country that has for 62 years been the victim of unrelenting Palestinian Jihad, mandated by Shariah law which is enforced in much of the Arab world. Between now and November 2 your administration and congress will be asked to provide position statements on Israel`s security. Therefore, it is imperative that you and your administration acknowledge the following facts about the on-going Middle East crisis. The Wall Street Journal, on August 28 stated in an editorial: "The dirty little secret of the Arab world is that it has consistently treated Palestinians living in its midst with contempt and often violence. In 1970, Jordan expelled thousands of Palestinian militants after Yasser Arafat attempted a coup against King Hussein. In 1991, Kuwait expelled some 400,000 Palestinians working in the country as punishment for Arafat`s support for Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War." * Mr. President, when you meet this week with world leaders, a change of policy toward the beleaguered Palestinians should be demanded of the Arabs who have long used Palestinians as pawns, denying them citizenship in any of their 22 Arab countries. They have forced them to live in squalor in camps, imprisoned at UNWRA expense (and US and EU). The strategy is for Palestinians to gain statehood inside Israel - in accordance with their 1974 Plan of Phases - that proclaims their stated goal of taking over all of Israel. While peace is a worthy ambition, some rudimentary existential needs of Israel should be recognized and met: * All States of The Arab League must recognize the existence of Israel as a lawful sovereign Jewish nation. Their media, their schools and their mosques must reflect this policy. * Jerusalem must remain undivided as the 3,000 year old capital of Israel. It has never been the capital of any other nation or people. * There must be reciprocity. A new state must never be permitted to have an apartheid policy. If Arabs can live in Israel, Jews must be allowed full citizenship in any new Arab state. * A new state must be demilitarized. * 300,000 Israelis live in Judea and Samaria. Under no circumstances should they be forced to leave their homes and businesses. Gaza, after unilateral Israeli withdrawal in 2005, serves as a good example of Hamas terrorists taking over governing control, followed by rampant terrorism (Jihad) with thousands of rockets targeting innocent Israeli civilians. * Israel should immediately reinstate their lawful right to build housing anywhere in Israel. If all of these vital conditions are met, there will be no need for written agreements of any kind, in a relationship similar to that between Canada and the United States. There will, at long last, be genuine mutual respect and real peace. We pray that under your leadership this will happen. Respectfully,
