Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu, I, along with millions of other Christian and Jewish Americans, stand with you in your search for lasting peace with security for the State of Israel. For years we in the US have developed a strong support system of individuals and organizations that are aware of the great sacrifices made to bring about the thriving democracy that Israel is today. We have also witnessed the 1993 Oslo accords, in which Yasser Arafat showed what can be achieved with a false peace treaty with Israel that resulted in world-wide diplomatic recognition, billions of dollars of aid, and control of Gaza and the West Bank that have become military launching pads against Israel`s civilian population. In return for a signature, Arafat created a war against Israel that the Arab states had begun in 1948. As Prime Minister of Israel, you are wise to be cautious. The world is counting on you and the continued sovereignty of the state of Israel to maintain stability in the Middle East against the threat of Iranian nuclear armament. Not only is the Obama administration reaching out to our enemies in the Middle East and Venezuela, but it appears that it is determined to force your government to accept a two-state solution. This is further complicated by the promise of genuine peace with a Palestinian government sworn to eliminate the Jewish state. The world demands that Israel recognize a Palestinian state, while Palestinians adamantly refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Arab citizens share the benefits of Israel`s democracy with voting rights, freedom of speech and religion and Knesset representation, and yet refuse to have Jews even live in a nascent state of Palestine. There must be laws in a Palestinian state assuring comparable rights. If that should happen, there would be no need to displace hundreds of thousands of Israelis to prevent their living in Palestine. Just as Arabs live in Israel, so should Jews be able to live in "Palestine." The "Palestinian refugee" issue is not solved by creating "Israeli refugees." The New York Times recently held an interview with Hamas leader Khaled Meshal at his Damascus headquarters offering a peace plan with a two-state solution. The offer is a truce that expires after 10 years. It means that after Israel has fatally weakened itself by settling millions of hostile Arab refugees in its midst, and after a decade of Hamas arming itself within a Palestinian state that narrows Israel to a width of nine miles - Hamas restarts the war against a country it remains pledged to eradicate. We know that you are fully aware of the many dangers that your country faces, and that you will have the fortitude to stand firm against its many enemies. Please understand that vast numbers of Americans are also cognizant of the existential threats. We wish you well in your upcoming negotiations in Washington and want you to remember that millions of Americans proudly support you in your staunch defense of Israel.
