Janet is a nationally sought-after speaker on public policy issues including U.S. policy on Israel. She also speaks on matters that affect family preservation and is a spokesperson for the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Janet has appeared on numerous national television, cable and radio networks, including "Crossfire," "Nightline," "Larry King Live," "Donahue" and "Politically Incorrect." She has also been featured in
People magazine.
Janet also hosts a daily 90-second "Washington Watch" feature and a daily three-hour nationally syndicated program, "Janet Parshall's America," originating from Washington, D.C. Her radio program is one of the only conservative talk shows in America that is hosted by a woman.
Janet Parshall hosts Renewing the Heart, Focus on the Family's weekly call-in radio program for women. Her broad background and unique experiences make her a natural for this exciting venture. In 1999 she was warmly received at Renewing the Heart events as one of the major conference speakers.
She has authored several books including her latest, "Tough Faith: Trusting God in Troubled Times" and "The Light in the City".
In 1998 Janet was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Religious Broadcasters, and in February 2001 she was elected to serve on its executive board. Janet was also nominated for the 1994-95 American Women in Radio and Television Commendation Award. According to the Achievement in Radio Awards, she was a finalist for best talk show host in Washington, D.C., in 1995, 1996 and 1998. Janet was also profiled as one of the top 100 talkers in Talkers magazine in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001.
Janet is a graduate of Carroll College in Wisconsin. Governor Tommy Thompson has twice appointed her to the Wisconsin Women's Council and to the Governor's Commission on Families and Children. Janet also served as Special Assistant to the President of Concerned Women for America and is listed in the 1995 and 1996 editions of
Who's Who of American Women and
Who's Who in America. Janet lives with her husband, Craig, in Virginia. They have four grown children.
